My Room
for this school project we got a character for which we had to design a bedroom. I got a clown, so we first had to make reference sheet. For the picture is used Takashi from the band DADAROMA and the names are based of my favourite gitarist and my favourite Splatoon idol! It has a short introduction of their backstory and also how I got their name. It was my first time making a bigger project in Blender and I'm very happy with how it looks.
Mood/Style bord
this was my mood/style bord, it helped me a lot with picking colours and also what type of stuff I wanted to add, although my room isn't as busy as these pictures they did help a lot and I took a lot of inspiration from them!
Musical element
We also had to look for a music track for our character, the playlist I made has a lot of colorfull tracks, and so I really recommend listening to the playlist whilst looking at the build since it adds so extra to it. Most of the songs are from a video game called Splatoon! Wich Sena's last name is also based off! They make very fun and hyper music and I think that fits my character.
BlockOut
we first had to make a blockout, although I thought it was going well when I actually tried modelling certain stuff I realised my entire room was seen by blender as one object, meaning that I couldn't edit a lot and had to redo it. It took me a while to get used to blender but I made it work and I'm really proud of how far I've come. My blackout was very empty but the main elements where in it.
I had a hard time modelling stuff, we also had a maximum of triangles we could have per item, 1600, this might sound like a lot but as soon as you start modelling you can see that it really isn't that much. I had a cute little elephant balancing on a ball and it turned out to be over 4000 triangles, so I had switch to extremely low poly and it became a bedstand accessorie. I changed the posters I first wanted for "birthday flags" because it fits my character more.
Colouring
the actual colouring was much easier then I first thought, it took me a while before fully understanding what I had to do, but after that it was super easy. The only problem I ran into was trying to decide what colours would be best!
After editing
We have post our work also on SketchFab, this is an online platform for 3D work. We also had to play around with the effects and light in SketchFab. This went a lot easier since I really wanted a booming colourful image, so most of the time is playing around with the light and the shadows. I also added annotations so it is easier to find things and also get a better close up!
